Letting shit go

The other day I was upset by a comment and I got really irate. I was not mad at the person who made the comment or at least not made about the comment. It was not a pretty moment nor was I enthused with myself for responding so poorly, however it became a teaching moment for myself that I need to take the breath before I respond and not after the fact. I can be mad about something however is that what I really triggered by or do I need to choose to respond with love and patience. The important thing is that I choose, choosing to make the correct response with light and love is a lesson many political figures could use when doing the work of the people. It’s a lesson that I need to keep in mind and practice. When you recognize that you are not mad at the person and you have been triggered, you are recognizing shadow work and learning to live with and transmute the energy we label negative.

Mindfulness, meditation, reiki, sound therapy, color therapy, or whatever takes to get you to place that you can stop the chatter will help with our external perspective and our reaction to life situations by realizing it’s not your fault it’s the human condition. Look at your cat, dog, or the pet you own to see how they are generally calm and not worrying about tomorrow. They do not replay the past in hopes of a different outcome or to just worry about how things already transpired relate to today, they are very much in the now!
